Swan ‘Dies From A Broken Heart’ After Teenagers Smashed Her Unborn Cygnets With Bricks

One can actually die from a broken heart. This doesn’t include humans only. It’s also common in animals. A momma swan died of a broken heart after frustrated teenagers killed her unborn cygnets.

The tragedy took place in Bolton, Greater Manchester, where a group of teenagers smashed the eggs using rocks and bricks. The sad momma had died and the dad was gone.

Onlookers said that the teenagers were actually aiming at the swan family. Sadly, they destroyed 3 of the 6 eggs. The swan family had other problems, and they have been targeted by dogs, hens, and ducks.

Swans only have one mate throughout their entire life. Their hearts break when one of them dies.

“This is a really sad development and it is very upsetting to hear about the death of this poor swan,” a rep of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) said.

“We are investigating the previous distressing incident and we would urge anyone with information to contact our appeals line on 0300 123 8018. Swans, their nests and their eggs are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.”

A week before the tragedy, teenagers used catapults to kill a swan and her three babies. The tragedy took place near Eisey Footbridge in Wiltshire.

People condemned the incident, and the post went viral. No one approved the actions, and authorities will hopefully punish the vandals.
